In the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Ismail Abdulwahhab Ismail , Assistant to the President of Alnoor University and organized by the Continuing Education Division at the Presidency of Alnoor University, the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies held a scientific workshop on Thursday, February 6, 2025, entitled:
"Saving Our Rivers… Our Role in Protecting Aquatic Life and Biodiversity."
The workshop was supervised and delivered by Dr. Nadhim Allawi , a lecturer in the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies at the university, with assistance from Mr. Omar Shihab Ahmed, an employee in the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the university’s presidency.
This lecture falls within one of the Sustainable Development Goals, in which the lecturer discussed how to protect and preserve the environment and water resources through treatment before discharge, and how to reduce pollution sources by applying strict procedures and policies.
These include expanding green spaces, planting vegetation, establishing nature reserves, avoiding fires and addressing them scientifically and immediately when they occur, and refraining from emitting smoke that increases pollution and affects the atmosphere and oxygen levels.
