The Department of Optical Technologies in the College of Health and Medical Technologies organized an awareness lecture on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, on the topic of smoking and drugs in Iraq, which was supervised by: Lecturer Dr. Dina Akram Jirjis It addressed the harms of smoking and drugs on society and their impact on individuals. It also presented statistics on affected people, along with studies on their effects in Iraq, as they are considered harmful social scourges.
