The University of Alnoor organizes a scientific visit for students of Medical Laboratory Techniques to the Nineveh Water Directorate to enhance their practical training
Under the supervision of Dr. Hadi Mohammed, Head of the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, University of Alnoor, and as part of the ongoing efforts of the University of Alnoor to link theoretical study with practical application, the department organized a scientific visit to the Quality Control Department at the Nineveh Water Directorate, with the participation of several fourth-year graduation project supervisors and a group of their students.
The visit aimed to familiarize students with modern devices and technologies used in the examination and analysis of drinking water. Specialists at the directorate provided a detailed explanation of laboratory procedures, methods for measuring concentrations of chemical elements and substances, as well as quality control procedures and water quality assurance.
The visit witnessed outstanding interaction from the students, as they were given the opportunity to carry out some practical tests under the supervision of technical staff, which contributed to enhancing their applied skills and developing their scientific capabilities.
During the visit, scientific information and expertise were also exchanged regarding methods of treating water pollution, particularly in well water and some areas of the Tigris River. In addition, the main environmental challenges and proposed solutions to reduce the impact of pollutants on water sources were discussed.
This visit comes as part of the University of Alnoor’s commitment to developing its students’ skills and strengthening cooperation with service institutions, contributing to the preparation of qualified scientific cadres that meet the needs of the labor market.
